Mr. S. D. Pandian

Mr. S. D. Pandian, Founder Secretary of SEEDS, is a committed social development professional with a lifelong passion for community empowerment. He began his career with the Sarvodaya Movement, where he developed a strong foundation in grassroots social work and people-centered development. Guided by a clear vision for inclusive growth, Mr. Pandian has consistently worked towards the upliftment of poor and marginalized communities, with a special focus on women, children, and farmers. His leadership reflects a deep belief in social justice, self-reliance, and sustainable development, making him a driving force behind SEEDS’ mission and impact.

Mr. S. D. Pandian envisioned and founded SEEDS (Social Education Economical Development Society) with a strong commitment to inclusive and sustainable development. The organization was formally registered in 1995 under the Societies Registration Act, 1975 (Act 27 of 1975). SEEDS was established to promote the economic and social development of vulnerable populations, through sustainable and community-driven approaches. Under his vision, SEEDS continues to work towards empowering marginalized groups and fostering long-term social and economic resilience.

From its humble beginnings, guided by assiduous leadership and unwavering determination, SEEDS has evolved into a fully-fledged, professionally managed organization. Today, it delivers cutting-edge development interventions that generate large-scale impact across rural regions, enhancing livelihoods and transforming the lives of thousands of farmers in its project areas. Through close collaboration with government agencies, corporate partners, and other key stakeholders, SEEDS effectively implements its core programmes, including climate-resilient disaster risk reduction, biodiversity conservation, Sustainable agriculture, watershed  and climate change adaptation, ensuring sustainable outcomes and long-term socio-economic development among the targeted communities.

Adopting a community-based approach, Mr. Pandian currently leads a skilled and professional team to address multiple community-level issues. He believes that active community participation is key to SEEDS’ success and is confident that, together, they can achieve their developmental goals.
