The Social Education Economical Development Society (SEEDS) has been at the forefront of implementing innovative, community-driven watershed programs across Tamil Nadu, ensuring sustainable water and soil resource management.
Groundwater Recharging
We construct rock check-dams and percolation tanks in natural ravines, raising the water table from 400ft deep to under 60ft across 12 target panchayats.
Farmer Livelihood Security
With guaranteed irrigation, marginal farmers cultivate 2 to 3 crops annually instead of abandoning their land to work as bonded urban day laborers.
Women Water Committees
Village women spearhead water maintenance through User Water Groups, eliminating the 4–mile daily walk for drinking water.
