Tata Global Beverages Limited introduces the Gaon Chalo Scheme in 2011 through Corporate Social Responsibilities in Tamilnadu. The purpose of the scheme is giving job opportunity and to create entrepreneurship in rural people. This scheme is implemented by NGOs because of to reach the rural areas. Under this scheme, SEEDS implement the CSR programme as a Rural Distributor(RD1) since 2011 at Virudhunagar District and also promote the “SEEDS AGRO PRODUCTS AND SERVICES PRIVATE LIMITED” company for implementation of this programme in other districts of Tamilnadu.

Tata Global Beverages has successfully evolved from a predominantly domestic Indian tea farming company to become a marketing and brand focused global organisation with a portfolio of strong brands. Under this scheme, SEEDS AGRO implement the CSR programme since 2011 at Virudhunagar District. Through this programme, our SHG animator, representatives, volunteers and rural distributors are benefitted and their income also increased. After monitoring our activities, TATA Global Beverage Ltd wish to give other 12 districts to sale the Tata tea products through SEEDS AGRO under this scheme. As a linkage to the above activities, SEEDS inspired to develop a promotional Community Enterprises, through CSR Activities, for the beneficiary of SHGs and FPOs members promoted by SEEDS. Thus SEEDS registered, “ SEEDS AGRO PRODUCT AND SERVICE PRIVATE LIMITED COMPANY” at Aathipatti.

SEEDS is acting as Rural Distributor to the promote distribution of Tea in Rural area under the corporate Social Responsibility activities of TATA Global Beverage Limited. The rural distribution activities are carried out through SEEDS in 13 districts SEEDS identify potential organization / rural Youth and involving them successfully organize the distribution activities. Under this programme 71 rural entrepreneurs generate an average income of Rs.6000/- average per month. It is a new opportunity to rural youth and middle aged men and women who are gaining knowledge and practice in rural trade vendor and business.

Witnessing the potential of SEEDS,one more product namely solar lightings of ECO LIFE, Coimbatore are given to SEEDS Under Rural Distribution. Further one new company which deal cattle feed production and sales is coming forward to enlist SEEDS to distribute their Krish Cattle Feed. SEEDS efforts to promote IGP income generation programmes to educate rural youth is yielding good result.

COFFEE EXPORT

The bulk of the Indian coffee is exported to Italy and Germany. The major export is in the form of green coffee seeds only, packed in gunnies and stuffed in containers. The coffee is exported mainly through Cochin and Chennai ports from south India

The various activities involved in coffee exports are

  • A.Procurement of coffee export order.
  • B.Procurement of raw coffee.
  • C.Processing of coffee
  • D.Transport to the port.

A.Procurement of coffee export order

Coffee export orders are secured from the foreign buyers either directly or through their agents. The orders are based on the availability of coffee in Indian market and the parity for the export of the particular grade of coffee. The orders are mostly secured for forward months delivery and the pricing are on differentials based on LIFFE and THEICE coffee futures prices. The payment terms are always CAD on first presentation only. The payment from the buyers normally reaches our bank in 7 days time. We have access to most of the European coffee buyers on a one to one basis. Mr. Venkatesh has served most of the buyers in Europe and enjoys excellent business support from them. B.Procurement of coffee export order

The raw coffee from the coffee growers is bought either directly or through agents who organize the transport of coffee from the farm gate to the coffee processing curing works. The pricing of the raw coffee is based on the LIFFE market for Robusta coffee and NYBOT market for Arabica coffee.

The payment for the coffee is effected on the receipt of the raw coffee at the curing works. The grower or agents sell coffee to the buyers only on immediate payment terms and no credit is available at the purchase point. It takes maximum 12 hours for the coffee to arrive from the farms to the curing works

Amrutha Coffee Pvt Ltd has 25 appointed collecting agents all over the coffee belt in Karnataka and has strong presence in Coorg district. Amrutha Coffee Pvt Ltd has a well established system of procurement of raw coffee and delivery of payment to the agents and growers. The raw coffee is evaluated at the curing works accurately before making the payment.

C.Processing of coffee

The raw coffee received at the curing works is milled to remove the outer shell, cleaned of foreign materials, graded into different sizes, garbled to be free from blacks and bulked to achieve uniformity of coffee. The processed coffee is stored in the go-downs and delivered at the time of shipment. Amrutha Coffee Pvt Ltd has a curing capacity of 4 tonnes per hour.

Amrutha Coffee Pvt Ltd has high processing capacity. It has two different and independent processing lines to process 2 tonnes of cherry coffee/hour and 2 tonnes of parchment coffee/hour. The coffee received will be cured and kept ready for shipment in maximum 2 days time.

D.Transport to the port:

The green coffee seeds are packed in gunny bags and stuffed into the containers and sealed at the curing works itself. Then the containers are moved to the Mangalore by road. The house stuffing and transport of containers are handled by efficiently by well-experienced C & F agents in Bangalore. The coffee is stuffed in containers and Bill of lading received in 2 days time.

SEEDS AGRO is geared up to increase the export in the coming season by expanding the sourcing network and fund base.

Green Coffee Seeds

SEEDS AGRO started the Coffee division in February 2017 after establishing the regional office in Chikmagalur and a branch office in Bangalore.

SEEDS AGRO ventured into trading of Green Coffee Seeds and started to explore the export market by January 2018. SEEDS AGRO managed to gain the confidence of few European buyers and secured some trail orders from them. Seeds agro executed all the trail orders to the complete satisfaction of all the buyers prompty.

SEEDS AGRO is geared up to increase the export in the coming season by expanding the sourcing network and fund base.

The Coffee division of SEEDS AGRO is headed by a senior Coffee trader with more than 20 years experience in Coffee Exports from India.

The sourcing and shipment of Coffee is handled by young and dynamic professionals from Bangalore office.

The quality control of Coffee at the sourcing point and at delivery point is done by a senior officer with 30 years experience in Coffee Industry

The bulk of the Coffee is sourced through Amrutha Coffee Curing Works, Kushalnagar, where the stocks are received assessed, processed and stored for exports. SEEDS AGRO has separate warehouse inside the premises of Amrutha Coffee Curing Works, for storage of Coffee purchased from all sources.

Amrutha Coffee Curing Works has the entire necessary infrastructure to deliver the Coffee to the diverse requirements of the global Coffee buyers.

Kerala:

SEEDS AGRO has procurement and processing arrangements with Blue Star Coffee Curing Works, Sulthan Bathery, Waynad, Kerala. Being a prominent Robusta growing area, well known for its cup and aroma, Coffee from these areas is preferred by most of the buyers. The curing works has the entire necessary infrastructure to produce quality Coffee and deliver to the requirements of our overseas buyers.

Associates:

They take additional care in ensuring quality and quantity of the Coffee delivery from the curing works and safe stuffing of the cargo in containers at the port. The bulk of the shipment take place through Mangalore Port which is the closest one to the Coffee growing areas and the factories also.
